HMACI is dedicated to advancing mental health and primary care in underserved communities. Through cutting-edge research, collaborations with leading experts, and Community Health Workers, we implement solutions that combine digital health tools, creative therapies, and music-based healing. By empowering individuals with innovative care approaches, we aim to transform mental wellness across Africa.

Threads of Progress

The Pendeza Weaving Project empowers rural women in Western Kenya by providing sustainable livelihoods through organic cotton farming and hand weaving, which also serves as a therapeutic outlet. Many artisans, previously exploited in the fishing trade, now find emotional healing and stability through their craft. Pendeza’s integration of creative therapy and mental health support, in partnership with initiatives like Mindful Kenya, promotes well-being while preserving cultural traditions.

Despite challenges, Pendeza continues to grow, helping women overcome trauma and build brighter futures.
