About Us

Pendeza Community is a women led non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of underserved communities through social sector services. With over four decades of experience, Pendeza Community operates in various counties in Kenya, including Kisumu, Siaya, and Homabay. The organization empowers communities by addressing mental health challenges and promoting emotional intelligence to unlock individual potential. With a rich legacy spanning over 40 years, Pendeza Community has undergone significant transformations since its inception in 1980.

Beginning as a family-owned initiative, we evolved into a Community-Based Organization (CBO) in 2006 and transitioned into a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) by 2016. Despite these changes, our unwavering dedication to community development and poverty alleviation remains steadfast. While our CBO now functions as a commercial entity in compliance with Kenya’s PBO Act, our NGO continues to champion our nonprofit mission, focusing on health, education, and food security in marginalized areas. Looking ahead, the CBO is poised to transition into a social enterprise, ensuring continued operations under the evolving policy landscape while also attracting investors to support our mission.
